GoFrogs: TCU Picked Third In Preseason Big 12 Poll

FORT WORTH - The TCU baseball team was picked to finish third in the Big 12 in a vote by league coaches. The Horned Frogs, ranked as high as No. 20 nationally, received one first place vote for a total of 45 points. TCU has never been picked lower than third since joining the league prior to the 2013 campaign.

Texas Tech received six first-place votes to earn the nod as the preseason favorite to win the Big 12. Oklahoma State ranked second (52), Oklahoma fourth (40) and Texas fifth (38). Baylor was voted sixth (35) and West Virginia seventh with 26 points, while Kansas State (16) and Kansas (11) rounded out the poll.

TCU welcomes back 15 letterwinners from last year's squad. Zach Humphreys leads a squad that boasts nine seniors on the roster. He elected to return to college after being drafted in the 26th round by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Additionally, it brought in a consensus top-5 recruiting class. Four members of the incoming group were drafted and chose to come to school – Jacob Meador (31), Phillip Sikes (33), Kurtis Byrne (35) and Harrison Beethe (39).

The 2020 season is set to begin on Feb. 14 when the Horned Frogs host Kentucky at 6:30 p.m.
