Just tuned in, I was watching the end of "Field of Dreams" on TCM. I first saw it in 1989, after it had just come out. I was stationed at a small base in Japan and our "theater" was about the size of a media room. So you knew everyone in there. By the end of the movie, I was quietly crying like a baby. I was embarrassed when the lights came on until I realized that almost everyone else had red, teary eyes too. There's something about that movie. I guess it has something to do with your relationship with your father. After he's gone, you think back on all the "what ifs..." and "why didn't I..." - can't help but get a little choked up.
Enough. There's no crying on baseball!
(I'm mixing my movie metaphors.)
