Ahead 8-3 going to the bottom of the 4th inning. Left 15 runners on, 15! We lose 11-10. This is a disgrace. We have absolutely shown how to do less with more all year long. I am ready to turn the page on this staff.

unless Eaton got a terrible jump or slipped rounding a base, there’s simply no way he’s not scoring. The ball kicked funny off the fence and the LF had to step up to dig the ball out. Camera angles never showed a good view so I don’t know. But the dugout rail seemed shocked w the stop sign. Liddy asked what happened when he handed his guard to the 1B coach. Even the announcers were surprised by the stop sign. Would have taken a perfect relay to hose my fastest runner to prevent tying the game. I’m tearing my rotator cuff wheeling Eaton home there.

just add it to the list of anemic, bad baseball so far this season.

Apparently, Eaton did pinch run for Traeger. No mention of it during the OSU broadcast.

Should he have scored? They never showed a good replay. If it was going to be close then 3rd base coach needs to find another job. Same crap every game.
I would LOVE to see an all 18 camera angle. But I feel like it’s basic timing. Two outs and you are jumping at the swing from first. With his speed, he should have been rounding 2B before the ball was getting to the fence. And when the ball kicked up and right off the fence and the fielder had to go get it, that’s a send for anybody w average or above average speed. Eaton is ++ speed.

Question to AI
Time in seconds for a mlb left fielder at the 330 foot fence to make a throw to the cutoff man, then the cutoff to relay the ball to home

**Around 3.5–4.5+ seconds total for the two throws (flight time only), plus ~0.5–1+ seconds for catch-and-release/handling by the cutoff man, for a realistic total in the 4–5.5+ second range depending on arms, positioning, and execution.**

2nd AI Question
Mlb time to run from 3rd to home? (From standstill)

**Typical MLB runner time from third to home (90 feet) is around 3.0–3.8 seconds for competitive/full-speed efforts, with elite speedsters under 3.0 seconds and average/slower runners closer to 3.5–4.0+ seconds.**

That ball got to the wall fast, and the left fielder didn't have to run all the way to the corner. Without knowing where Eaton was when the fielder grabbed the ball, I'm going to give our coach the benefit of the doubt.

Me too. I was listening to the radio call. Chuck and Jamie Plunkett said Eaton was at 3rd when when LF got to the ball. I had a hard time believing that was really the case.

I agree. We have way too much talent to be a middle of the road Big 12 team. With the talent we have we should be an Omaha contender.

Since Schloss left we had one brief run in 2023 when we got hot and went to Omaha due to some fortunate circumstances including playing a super regional at home that should have been on the road. Even that season we were terrible until right at the end. The rest of the time we have been very average.

As much as I like Coach Sarloos I think it is past time for a coaching change. This is an elite program that has become mediocre and something needs to change quickly or we will stay mediocre.
