GoFrogs: TCU Announces Themed Football Gamedays

FORT WORTH – TCU Athletics has announced an exciting lineup for themed promotional games this upcoming football season for all six home games.

The Horned Frogs home opener on Sept. 7 against LIU will be a celebration of Fort Worth with Cowtown Kickoff. Fans are encouraged to wear purple and white western wear to cheer on the Frogs against LIU. The game begins at 7 p.m. and will feature elements outside and inside the stadium to honor Fort Worth heritage.

TCU's first meeting with UCF on Sept. 14 will be Traditions Day. Coinciding with TCU Family Weekend, the 6:30 p.m. game will feature a celebration of Horned Frogs traditions, past and present.

On Oct. 4, TCU will host Houston during Hispanic Heritage Month and on a night themed Noche de las Ranas (Night of the Frogs). It will be a Black Out for the 6:30 p.m. start as all fans are encouraged to wear black gameday attire. The in-game elements will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

The purple not worn for Oct. 4 can be saved for Oct. 26 and a Purple Out against Texas Tech. Frogs Flashback is the theme for a throwback to celebrate TCU's homecoming.

For Oklahoma State's visit to Amon G. Carter Stadium on Nov. 9, TCU will Hail All Heroes to celebrate and honor all first responders.

The home finale on Nov. 23 against Arizona will honor the senior class and our fans who support them. Fan Appreciation Day will be dedicated to celebrating the loyal Frog fans.

More details on all promotions will be announced closer to each game date through TCU Athletics' social media accounts. Season tickets and single game tickets are available now.

Traditions? Ok, I’ll poke that ant hill:

Vigilante story’s, anyone?
Don’t even have to be true…..

Vigilantes brought their cannon to the Cotton Bowl for the SMU game.

Fired it off right before half-time when Phillip Epps made a great catch for a touchdown.

Thing was loud and scared the crap out of everyone.

Dallas PD went nuts.

Had to back off when the vigilantes produced all kinds of City of Dallas permits including a Parade Permit.

I got the story from a member over our third pitcher at the stables.

We take an article about who our school will honor that football weekend and go straight to a political discussion. Come on people.

I do wonder about flashback. Flying TCU maybe? No lavenders please.

Khaki pants with a thick purple stripe up the back of the legs would be awesome.

LeapFrog said at the movies when black and white newsreels played you could tell when TCU was on by those pants.
