GoFrogs: TCU Announces 2019 Baseball Schedule

FORT WORTH – TCU baseball head coach Jim Schlossnagle has announced the 2019 baseball schedule, and the 54-game slate is comprised of 28 home contests, 20 road games and six neutral site match-ups.

The schedule features 21 games against 10 teams that participated in the 2018 NCAA postseason.

"We are super excited about our 2019 schedule," raved Schlossnagle. " The awesome experiences our players, staff and fans will get to be a part of - playing in two major league ballparks and one of the best spring training facilities in all of professional baseball as well. Add those games to what will certainly be an incredible season of baseball in the Big 12 and our team will be challenged at the highest level."

A road-heavy start to the schedule will see the Horned Frogs play 11 of the first 16 games of the season away from home. TCU will open the season in Scottsdale, Ariz. at Salt Rivers Park in the MLB Collegiate Baseball Tournament which will feature Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 15), Virginia (Feb. 16) and Vanderbilt (Feb. 17).

The Frogs home slate begins Feb. 19 with a midweek contest against Abilene Christian. A three game series against Grand Canyon follows Feb. 22-24.

Eight of the next nine games will be away from Lupton Stadium beginning with a Wednesday, Feb. 27 contest at Sam Houston State. The Frogs will once again take part in the Shriners Hospital for Children College Classic at Minute Maid Park with games against Houston (March 1), Texas A&M (March 2) and Rice (March 3).

Following a brief stop at home against Stephen F. Austin (March 5), TCU will head to California for four games. The trip begins with a three game series at Long Beach State (March 8-10) and ends with a midweek contest at San Diego (March 12).

TCU will open up a lengthy stretch of home games starting with a three-game series against Eastern Michigan. A quick trip to Arlington on March 19 breaks up a stretch of 11 out of 12 games at Lupton Stadium.

A three game series against Texas March 22-24 starts an eight-game homestand. UTRGV makes a stop in Fort Worth on March 26, while Oklahoma State heads to Fort Worth March 29-31. The homestand concludes April 2 against UT Arlington.

TCU will hit the road for a three-game series at Oklahoma (April 5-7) before returning home to host Dallas Baptist (April 9) and Seton Hall (April 12-14).

The Frogs will conclude the season series with UT Arlington at Clay Gould Ballpark on April 16 before traveling to Kansas State (April 18-20). Dallas Baptist heads to TCU on April 23 followed by a weekend series against Baylor (April 26-28). The month of April wraps up with a road trip to Abilene Christian (April 30).

A trip to West Virginia (May 3-5) for three games kicks off the final month of the regular season. Kansas (May 10-12) and Lamar (May 14) close out the Frogs home schedule. The season concludes at Texas Tech (May 16-18).

The Big 12 tournament returns to Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark May 21-26.
