Strosnider Earns Multiple Big 12 Honors
Freshman hit .500 with three home runs during the week

FORT WORTH – TCU baseball's Sawyer Strosnider was voted the Big 12 Player of the Week in addition to being named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. The freshman was instrumental in leading TCU to a 3-1 record last weekend. He is the first player this season to be named Big 12 Player of the Week and Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.
Strosnider hit .500 (10-for-20) and recorded eight RBI, six runs, two doubles and three homers last week. His 10 hits in four games extended his hitting streak to 13 games, which includes at least two hits in 10 of those games.
The freshman outfielder recorded his first career home run at Dallas Baptist to start a Horned Frogs' comeback after trailing 3-0. He opened the series against Texas Tech with a four-hit outing that included two doubles in the 13-2 win over the Red Raiders. In the series finale, Strosnider finished 3-for-5 with three runs, six RBI and two home runs to clinch the weekend. His first homer evened things up at 5-5 in the top of the seventh before he hit the go-ahead shot in the top of the 11th to put TCU up 7-5.
Strosnider joins Cole Cramer as an honoree this season. Cramer was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Feb. 18.
The Horned Frogs begin a busy week of games with a midweek series against UTRGV on Tuesday. First pitch at Lupton Stadium will be at 6 p.m.
