Frogs Ranked No. 7 Nationally in Preseason Poll - TCU Athletics
FORT WORTH – Heading into the 2022 season, TCU soccer is ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll.

FORT WORTH – The TCU women's soccer team enters the 2022 season ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll. It marks the second straight season the Horned Frogs will open the season ranked in the Top 10.
The reigning Big 12 Champions finished the 2021 campaign ranked No. 9 following the squad's second consecutive NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance. The Horned Frogs won both the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles and finished the season with a 19-2-3 record.
The Horned Frogs rewrote the school record book in 2021, posting season records for wins (19), goals (60), assists (72), points (192) and shutouts (13). TCU was one of three schools to rank in the top 10 nationally in goals against average and total points.
Eric Bell enters his 11th season as the leader of the Horned Frogs. A two-time Big 12 Coach of the Year (2020, 2021), Bell along with associate head coach Ryan Higginbotham and assistant coach Tom Serratore were voted as the United Soccer Coaches Midwest Region Staff of the Year for the second straight year in 2021.
TCU returns seven Big 12 All-Conference selections from last season. Lauren Kellett was tabbed Goalkeeper of the Year after limiting opponents to 13 goals and combining for 13 shutouts on the season. She set a new TCU standard with 10 shutouts. Additionally, the Frogs return Messiah Bright who was one of 15 semifinalists for the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy Award. Bright, a United Soccer Coaches Association All-American, became the first ever Horned Frog to record a 40-point season (17 goals, 6 assists).
Three other teams ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll will face off against TCU this season. The Frogs host Santa Clara (No. 5) on Aug. 25 and Duke (No. 2) on Sept. 4. The Frogs also travel to USC (No. 15) on Sept. 1. TCU will also play against a trio of teams receiving votes, Wisconsin (Aug. 18), Harvard (Sept. 17) and Texas (Sept. 22).
