TCU Closes Regular Season With Draw At Kansas

FORT WORTH – McKenzie Oliver scored the equalizer in the 57th minute and Courtney Hofer made five saves to help TCU play to a 1-1 draw at Kansas Friday night in the regular season finale.
The Rundown
Despite rain showers through the entirety of the match, TCU and Kansas treated fans to an entertaining match. Once again, the Horned Frogs rallied from a deficit to pull out a result.
TCU had the early advantage in the first half, but a late push from Kansas turned into a 1-0 halftime lead. Liana Salazar took the Ashley Williams crossing feed and headed it past a diving Hofer for the lead in the 31st minute.
The Frogs came out firing in the second half, outshooting the Jayhawks 11-3 in the frame. The hard work paid dividends in the 57th minute as Michelle Prokof hit a streaking Oliver in stride. Oliver chipped in her third goal of the season over the keeper’s head to tie the game at one.
Each overtime featured a wealth of chances for both teams. Hofer made a diving stop in the first overtime and watched as seven other Kansas shots missed the net. Prokof had the best look for the Frogs, but her bad angle shot went just wide of the far post in the first overtime.
