GoFrogs: Seniors Propel TCU to Win Over Baylor
FORT WORTH – Free throws down the stretch by a pair of seniors gave the TCU men's basketball team the 85-81 victory over Baylor and captured a win in its Big 12 Conference opener for the first time in program history on Saturday afternoon inside Schollmaier Arena.

Behind the hot shooting of Desmond Bane, TCU (12-1, 1-0 Big 12) led for all but 21 seconds against the Bears (8-5, 0-1 Big 12) in Saturday's contest. Three other Horned Frogs scored in double figures as TCU won its third straight contest against Baylor for the first time since Dec. 29, 2001.

A dunk by Baylor opened the contest, but TCU came roaring back and never trailed again as the Frogs stretched the lead to as many as 12 during the opening half. Bane scored 15 of his 22 points in the first half including five of six from the field.

A layup by Bane with 16:37 left in the second half brought the Frogs lead to 19 which was the largest of the game. Baylor did not give up and chipped away at the TCU lead to bring it within one with 18 seconds remaining. Under the senior leadership of Alex Robinson and JD Miller, TCU converted three of four free throws in the final seconds of the game to secure the victory to open 2019.

Bane led all players with 22 points while Alex Robinson and JD Miller each finished with double-doubles. Freshman RJ Nembhard finished with 10 points with Kouat Noi chipping in nine points.
