GoFrogs: Second-seed TCU takes on third-seed Florida State in College Cup

Not that familiar with the rule. It looked to glance off her side and then her arm.
They discussed that as a potential reason it wasn't called but when they replayed it, the announcers didn't see that and neither did I.

It's a judgement call but seemed like a huge miss to me. I played for a lot of years (thought about trying out at TCU but Dave Rubinson...) and coached a lot. I don't understand that no call.

What did you see that would lead you to that decision?

There is no reason that was not a handball. Arm was not in a natural position, it was raised, it impeded the direction of the ball toward the goal and if you look at the reaction on the FSU player and their coach they were both resigned to it being a PK. If you look at the highlights of men's soccer quarterfinal, SLU and Akron there are 2 pk's called for handballs and they are EXACTLY the same as this. That being said, FSU was the better team but TCU did get screwed.

I don’t see this look previously. Wow. Criminal that wasn’t called.

Yeah I'm not dialed in to the exact mitigations that exist; some online are saying the ball deflected off of the defender's body. I didn't really see that at all. I don't know if they saw it brush her uniform; again I don't know whether they would use that to disavow the foul.

I do know that by having her arm out, she made herself "big", which is one of the specific things that results in a call. I would love to hear an explanation of why they didn't reverse the miss on the field.

I talked to a friend who has done some reffing; he thought it was a foul.
