    AUSTIN, Texas – A cold-shooting second half hurt the TCU men's basketball team in a 70-56 loss at Texas Wednesday at Frank Erwin Center.

    Texas (15-11, 5-8 Big 12) and TCU (14-12, 5-8 Big 12) shot well from the floor in the first half as the Frogs shot 62.5 percent and the Longhorns were 57.7 percent, including 5-of-5 from 3-point range. The lead shifted back and forth throughout the first half, but three Texas turnovers in the final two minutes of the half all led to TCU baskets and gave the Frogs a 38-36 advantage at the half. Bane led TCU with 13 points and 3 assists, while Nembhard dished out six assists in the first 20 minutes.

    TCU shot just 24.1 percent in the second half and missed all 10 of its 3-point attempts while the Longhorns shot 44 percent. The Horned Frogs also committed 10 of its 14 turnovers over the final 14 minutes of play, in which Texas never relinquished its lead.

    Bane finished with a team-high 13 points, all of which came in the first half, and grabbed nine rebounds. Sophomore Kevin Samuel recorded his 15th career double-double and 11th this season with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

    Team Notes
    - TCU moved to 69-113 all-time against Texas.
    - Texas swept the season series against TCU for the first time since the 2014-15 season.
    - TCU outrebounded UT, 35-23, and moved to 12-4 this season and 71-22 under Dixon when outrebounding its opponent.
    - Four different Horned Frogs scored in double-figures, the most since Jan. 18 at Oklahoma.
    - TCU's bench was outscored 30-6, the fewest bench points since Jan. 14 at West Virginia.
    - TCU was 3-of-18 from 3-point range, which tied a season-low with the game at Texas Tech on Feb. 10.
    - The Frogs started with the lineup of Desmond Bane, PJ Fuller, Jaire Grayer, Kevin Samuel and RJ Nembhard for the second-straight game and second time overall this season.

    Individual Notes
    - Bane finished with 13 points, the 22nd time he's scored in double figures this season. It was the 14th time this season he's led the team in scoring.
    - Bane was 1-of-6 from 3-point range, it was the 16th consecutive game he made a 3-pointer.
    - Bane also recorded nine rebounds and tied his season-high with three steals. All three steals were in the first half.
    - Bane played 40 minutes, the first time this season he was not subbed out of a game.
    - RJ Nembhard scored 10 points and dished out a game-high six assists, all of which came in the first half.
    - Nembhard led the team in assists for the 10th time in his career.
    - Kevin Samuel recorded his 11th double-double this season with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
    - Kevin Samuel blocked two shots, marking the 17th game this season and 31st of his career with multiple blocks.
    - Jaire Grayer scored in double-figures for the third consecutive game, his longest such streak this season, scoring 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting.
    - Grayer also tied his season-high with two steals.
    - Jaedon LeDee was 3-of-4 from the field for six points. He has made 10 of his last 14 shot attempts (71.4 percent).
