Texas (15-11, 5-8 Big 12) and TCU (14-12, 5-8 Big 12) shot well from the floor in the first half as the Frogs shot 62.5 percent and the Longhorns were 57.7 percent, including 5-of-5 from 3-point range. The lead shifted back and forth throughout the first half, but three Texas turnovers in the final two minutes of the half all led to TCU baskets and gave the Frogs a 38-36 advantage at the half. Bane led TCU with 13 points and 3 assists, while Nembhard dished out six assists in the first 20 minutes. TCU shot just 24.1 percent in the second half and missed all 10 of its 3-point attempts while the Longhorns shot 44 percent. The Horned Frogs also committed 10 of its 14 turnovers over the final 14 minutes of play, in which Texas never relinquished its lead. Bane finished with a team-high 13 points, all of which came in the first half, and grabbed nine rebounds.
