FORT WORTH – After repeating as Big 12 regular season champions, No. 10 TCU enters the Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament looking for a second straight sweep of the conference titles.

The Horned Frogs begin play at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in the quarterfinals in Kansas City, Missouri. TCU earned the No. 1 seed and a double bye. The Frogs will face No. 8 seed Utah, No. 9 BYU or No. 16 Houston in their first game.

TCU's path to Sunday's championship bout offers the opportunity to potentially avenge two of its four losses. The Horned Frogs fell in overtime to Utah on Jan. 3 in Salt Lake City after the Utes nailed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to send the game to an extra period. The top-half of the bracket also includes No. 4 seed Oklahoma State and No. 5 Texas Tech, the latter of which edged TCU 62-60 on Feb. 1 in Lubbock.

The Horned Frogs enter the T-Mobile Center on a six-game winning streak that includes a trio of top-20 wins – one over No. 2 seed West Virginia and two vs. No. 3 Baylor – and a victory over a full-strength Iowa State squad. TCU is all-but-assured of hosting rights for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Frogs received the No. 11 overall seed in the NCAA selection committee's most recent top 16 reveal.

Frog Focus
  • TCU is the first team in the history of the Big 12 to win back-to-back regular season championships within three seasons of finishing in last place.
  • Picked to win the Big 12 in both the preseason coaches' and media polls, TCU has now met or exceeded its projected conference finish in 10 of its 14 seasons of Big 12 membership and all three years under head coach Mark Campbell.
  • Campbell has now won five league titles in as many seasons as a head coach when including conference tournaments. His 2023 Sacramento State squad swept the Big Sky regular season and tournament championships.
  • TCU's average margin of victory against Big 12 teams over the last two seasons is 15.9 points. That figure has increased to 16.3 points in 2025-26.
  • In addition to repeating as league champions, TCU's other primary ambition for the 2025-26 campaign was to play four NCAA Tournament games in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs seemingly took another step toward delivering on that ambition on Sunday. TCU received the No. 11 overall seed and was delegated to the Fort Worth Regional in the NCAA Selection Committee's latest top 16 reveal. Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games at the Fort Worth Regional, hosted by the Big 12 Conference, take place at Dickies Arena,
  • All-but-certain to earn their 11th NCAA Tournament berth, the Horned Frogs are also pulling for TCU men's basketball to make the Big Dance. TCU moved off the "Last Four Byes" section of ESPN's Joe Lunardi's latest bracketology following their 73-65 road win over No. 10 Texas Tech on Tuesday. TCU men's and women's basketball have never competed in the NCAA Tournament in the same season.
  • In his three seasons in Funky Town, Campbell has led TCU to an 82-20 record and 39 appearances in The Associated Press poll, including 20 top-10 rankings. In the three seasons preceding his hire, TCU went entirely unranked and competed to a 24-60 combined overall record. Prior to Campbell's arrival, TCU never ascended higher than 13th in the AP Top 25.
  • Campbell coached his 100th game at the helm of TCU hoops in an 80-73 win over Iowa State on Feb. 22. Since his hire ahead of the 2023-24 season, Campbell ranks sixth among all Power Conference head coaches in wins (82) and win-loss percentage (.804).
  • Strictly looking at the last two seasons, TCU has tallied the fifth-most wins of any Division I team (61) and ranks fifth among all teams in win-loss percentage (.884).
  • The Frogs' fortunes permanently turned in a 79-72 victory at Cincinnati on Feb. 17, 2024. TCU entered the game having lost nine of its last 10 and one month removed from holding open tryouts. Since that game, TCU has competed to a 67-11 overall record and 39-7 mark vs. the Big 12.

Three of today's four Big 12 wbb tournament games are likely bubble busters. Both ESPN and The Athletic have BYU, Utah, Arizona State and Kansas among their first-4-out or next-4-out. So, the BYU-Utah game is a true loser-goes-home game; winner may still need to beat TCU to earn a bid.

Meanwhile, Iowa State will solidify a bid with a win over Arizona State, but the Sun Devils have to advance to stay on the bubble, and they may need to beat WV too.

Same with Colorado-Kansas. Buffs are probably in if they win and out if they lose today. KU needs a win to keep their chances alive and may need to beat Baylor too.

Now, if only this drama could play out on something other than the ugliest court ever assembled.

How does that not distract the players? Seems to significantly change their environment.

The court design was lambasted last year; I'm guessing they had a multi-year contract with the provider who (a) had sunk costs and was unwilling to change and/or (b) thought all publicity is good publicity.

Fan Club
I took a couple of Zona fans to the game here and they loved our court.

It is the best floor in all of hoops.
I'm sure it's a love/hate thing. I have friends who support me/TCU who aren't fans of the court (including my entire family of die hard Frog fans). I don't love it either; some of those people say our floor is as bad as Boise's field. Ouch.

I usually defend anything TCU to the end of the earth but our court (and the entire round arena I remember, TBH) is not my favorite. I understand you loving it but that's far from universal in my experience.
