WACO, Texas -- TCU defensive lineman NaNa Osafo-Mensah has been nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, one of the most coveted community service awards in college football.
A Fort Worth native, Osafo-Mensah is in his first season at TCU after playing 39 games over four seasons for Notre Dame. He totaled 5.5 tackles for loss with 3.0 sacks as part of 20 stops last fall. Osafo-Mensah earned a bachelor's degree in political science with a double minor of business economics and sociology. He then received a master's degree in business management.
Osafo-Mensah has been a volunteer at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth as well as with the city's Community Crossroads program through First Presbyterian Church's mission outreach center. He served meals to and sat with the homeless at Broadway Baptist Church. He is also a role model with youth through the NCAA's Readers Become Leaders program with the Fort Worth ISD.
