Nuutinen Closes TCU Career at NCAA Regional
TCU standout birdied her final two holes as a collegian

STILLWATER, Okla. -- TCU senior Sanna Nuutinen closed a standout collegiate career by birding her final two holes en route to a 74 in final-round play Saturday at the NCAA Central Regional.

One day after carding a 67 for the Regional's low second-round score, Nuutinen began Saturday by recording par on her opening eight holes. She then birdied hole No. 9 to close the front nine at 1 under. It also made her 7 under through a 28-hole stretch dating back to Thursday's opening round.

A native of Helsinki, Finland, Nuutinen closed the regional with a 6-over 222 and a tie for 19th.

Nuutinen was a three-time all-conference selection, earning the honor twice in the Mountain West and this season in the Big 12 when she posted a career-best 73.7 stroke average. She won the 2012 Mountain West championship on a fourth-playff hole.

Nuutinen ranks second in TCU history with seven sub-70 rounds. Her 75.0 stroke average is fourth, while she's sixth with 124 rounds played.

The TCU women's golf program was represented in the postseason for a 19th consecutive year by either its team or an individual.

Nuutinen has earned a TCU degree in sports psychology.
