GoFrogs: TCU Rallies Past Kansas State, 3-2

FORT WORTH –
No. 7 TCU rallied with two goals in a two minute span in the second half to erase a 2-1 deficit and pick up a 3-2 victory over Kansas State Friday night in the final regular-season home game. Gracie Brian tied the game and Camryn Lancaster scored the game-winner to run TCU's winning streak to five straight and its unbeaten streak to six.

The Rundown
The Horned Frogs were on the front foot from the opening touch and turned the early pressure into a 1-0 lead just nine minutes into the game. Camryn Lancaster sent a perfect through ball and Messiah Bright split her defenders, firing home the opening goal of the match.

TCU kept the pressure on, outshooting Kansas State 12-2 in the first half, but a trio of saves by the Wildcat keeper kept it a 1-0 game heading to the half.

Kansas State wasted little time getting the game tied at one in the 49th minute. Marisa Weichel intercepted a pass and found the back of the net to make it a 1-1 game. Just under 10 minutes later, the Wildcats had a 2-1 lead on a shot from distance off the foot of Brookelynn Entz.

The Frogs immediately went on the attack and eventually tied the game at two. Gracie Brian hung around inside the six and knocked home the equalizer on a feed from Bright. Brandi Peterson picked up her first assist of the match as she found Bright in space for the Bright feed.

Bright narrowly missed tying the game moments later as her shot clanged off the crossbar. The Frogs reorganized and Peterson worked the ball to Camryn Lancaster. She didn't miss as she put the Frogs in front 3-2 in the 68th minute. TCU buckled down defensively and held on for the victory.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the crowd:

"It was awesome. It's been record-breaking all season. The stands were packed. I think our kids fed off the energy they provided. I'm really happy they were able to come out and support us."

On playing a tough Kansas State team:
"We knew that it was going to be a difficult game to play based on how they had performed. I thought we started off really well, had a bunch of chances, but we didn't put them away. With team's like this that are fighting for their lives as far as the conference tournament is concerned, you know they are not to give up. They came back and scored two goals, but I was really pleased with how we responded."
