No. 6 TCU Drops Heartbreakers to No. 7 Florida State, No. 3 USC
Both matches came down to final courtPOMPANO BEACH, Fla. – In the second day of the Florida Atlantic Beach Invitational, the sixth-ranked TCU beach volleyball team dropped two thrilling matches against No. 7 Florida State and No. 3 USC.
Both matches came down to the final court, which TCU (12-3) narrowly lost in three sets.
MATCH ONE – No. 6 TCU 2, No. 7 Florida State 3
To open up the day, TCU fell in a rematch with No. 7 Florida State (15-1).
Due to weather, the match was played with 1, 3, 4 and 5 competing simultaneously.
Florida State got going early, taking Flight 3 and 1 to open up a 2-0 lead.
The Frogs would not go away easily with Stacy Reeves and Deniela Konstantinova earning a win to cut the deficit.
Hannah Taylor and Melina Mol took their match in three sets, and eyes turned to the final matchup at No. 2.
In a three-set thrilled, Elea Beutel and Adriana Serrano Ferro lost by the minimum and Florida State emerged victorious.

MATCH TWO – No. 6 TCU 2, No. 3 USC 3
In the second match from Pompano Beach, TCU fell to No. 3 USC after enduring a weather delay.
The match saw all five courts competing simultaneously due to weather.
To open up the match, USC made quick work to earn two sweeps at Flight 1 and 2.
The Horned Frogs once again would not go away quietly, with Morgan Williams and Deniela Konstantinova posting a sweep.
From there, the match came down to Flights 3 and 4 in decisive third sets. Stacy Reeves and Sofia Izuzquiza tied up the match with a victory at No. 3.
In a nailbiter, Melina Mol and Hannah Taylor fell in set three by a score of 15-13, and the Trojans took the victory.
