I haven't read the game thread but was there an explanation why Bixby started? Where is Klecker? Is he not available again? I never heard a reason.

We gave up 9 walks on Friday. Our defense was suspect. Bowen had 2 errors at first base. On offense we had 15 Ks (Cadena had 4). Once we had the bases loaded with no outs and the top of the lineup coming up, and did not score. It was just an all around bad game on our part. We have got to win on Saturday to stay close to WVU.

Glad to see Cadena get the day off. He’s been scuffling at the plate last couple of weeks. Hopefully Myers takes advantage of the start today and gets his bat going.

hard to win series when youve got several guys challenging Mendoza all year long rotating thru the lineup card

I think I saw why Bixby has the limited pitching appearances he does. Not the best day for TCU pitching. 9 free passes, several scored.

What is Bowden doing there? Freeze the runner and take the out.
I’d have the see the full field video but w that being a backside chopper I’m guessing the runner was going on down contact there. So nothing to freeze. You just gotta find a way to get the double play made if you’re KBo

The last 2 starters for UCF have been very good. Last night their reliever shut us down. Most of their hitters are hitting over .300. How in the world are they 5-12 in Big 12 play?
If I heard correctly, yesterday’s UCF starting pitcher had been effective as mid and short relief all season. UCF had been looking for a 3rd starter. They may have found him at our expense.
