TCU Picks Up Victory at UTA
ARLINGTON, Texas – The No. 16 TCU men's tennis team continued its winning ways on Saturday afternoon as the Horned Frogs scored their third straight victory with a 5-2 win over UT Arlington at the UTA Tennis Center in Arlington.
TCU (3-1) was leading on all three doubles courts with Bertus Kruger and Reese Stalder capturing the first win of the day with a 6-2 victory on court one over the Mavericks (2-3). Alastair Gray and Eduardo Roldan paired up for the first time this season and were able to clinch the doubles point on court three with a 6-3 win.
Gray carried the momentum into singles action as he got his first win of the season on court one with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Guanarteme Nuez. Freshman Luc Fomba continued his singles winning streak by getting a 7-5, 6-1 win over Miguel Cabrera on court four. The overall team victory was clinched by No. 65 Kruger as he downed Mauricio Rio, 6-2, 6-4 on court two. After the match was complete, No. 69 Roldan got a singles win of his own with a 6-3, 6-7(9), 10-4 win over Eduard Simo on court six.
