GoFrogs: Frogs Take Lead at Southern Highlands

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – TCU moved up two spots Tuesday and will begin the final round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate with the lead.
Identical to Monday’s opening round, the Horned Frogs shot 1-under 287 in the second round Tuesday in Las Vegas, Nev. At 2-under 574, TCU leads UNLV and No. 5 Florida by one stroke and No. 8 Oklahoma and Pepperdine by three strokes.
Junior Triston Fisher shot a team-best 3-under 69 to move up 35 places. He is tied for 12th at even-par 144.
Junior Stefano Mazzoli played bogey-free golf and shot 1-under 71. He leads the Frogs at 3-under 141 and is tied for sixth place. Mazzoli trails the leader, Justin Suh of USC, by three strokes.
Juniors Turner MacLean and Pierre Mazier are tied for 41st at 4-over 148. Junior David Ravetto shot 1-under 71 Tuesday to move up to a tie for 55th place.
In another loaded field that features seven of the top 25 teams in the nation, the Frogs shot 1-under 287. TCU is two shots back of UNLV and five shots back of the leader, No. 5 Florida. TCU leads No. 4 Alabama, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 10 Texas Tech, No. 14 Illinois and No. 21 UCLA.
The Frogs will try for their second consecutive tournament win Wednesday. TCU won the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Feb. 28. The Southern Highlands Collegiate features seven of the top 25 teams in the country.
