That's fair. I also don't think there's a person here who would say that atrocious shooting night was us playing to our potential. Good for N.O., they're not half bad and they took advantage of their opportunity.

Look, we might get smoked Friday, that's probably the smart money. But at least psychologically this might be the optimal way to head into this Michigan contest. We were humbled, we humbled someone and shot well, then we were again reminded we're not as good as we need to be right now heading into this stretch. I think that's a better setup than having feasted on three barely D1 schools with a 6'6" center, and coming in thinking we're hot stuff.

From what I understand this is a hard working group, and it will be interesting to see if they bust ass this week to be ready.
Both New Orleans and Lamar had deadeye shooting guards.
Benson for New Orleans scored 22 and Lee for Lamar tossed in 26.

Posey needs to start. His defense and activity changed the game in the second half. LL needs to get his shot going or he doesn’t really help us much. The momentum in the UNO game and last night turned when he went out of the game. Robinson and Posey both need 30+ minutes a night.

That seems to be the thing, finding the combo that's working on any given night.

Tonight it was Pierre, Harding, Posey, Robinson and Punch. Next time there might be four other names in the five.

We may not have any #1 picks on this team but it is deep. That, at the very least, gives us better potential on nights where primary scorers are off. We're going to see how much a lack of size does/doesn't hurt us on Friday. Game 1, when we couldn't hit a three to save a life and New Orleans had half a dozen guys in the rotation over 6'5", it definitely hurt.
I do think that can be a good and bad thing. Sometimes it is good to know who the alpha dogs are so you can run the offense for those players, especially crunch time.

I have mixed feelings about this team. I can see potential in just about everyone, but team is clearly still trying to figure things out.

One thing having me scratch my head is Harding driving and getting the D to collapse but never really finding the open guy, be it an open 3 point shot or a big rolling to the basket. Seems to get caught in no man's land. Hasn't been turning the ball over, but also seems to be in a lot of "now what?" situations.
