FORT WORTH – Lui Maxted tacked on one final accolade to his decorated career as a Horned Frog.

The departing senior was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America first team, becoming the first player in TCU men's tennis history to receive the recognition.

Maxted graduated in May with his bachelor of science degree in economics. He maintained a 3.63 cumulative grade point average across his four years in Fort Worth.

A product of Worthing, England, Maxted was one of only seven D1 athletes to be tabbed to the first team. The seven first team honorees produced a combined GPA of 3.83. Including Maxted, five of the seven players earned NCAA All-American accolades.

Maxted's performance in the classroom was supplemented on the hardcourts. He began his senior year by teaming with Pedro Vives to win the 2025 NCAA Doubles Championship in November. Maxted also advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championship, earning All-American accolades in both disciplines.

This spring, Maxted proved to be the most reliable player in TCU's lineup. He led the Horned Frogs in total victories with 65 and finished with respective records of 34-8 in doubles and 31-9 in singles. Maxted's 31 singles victories were the fifth-most of any D1 player. He closed the season on a 12-match singles winning streak while splitting time on courts two and three.

Behind Maxted, TCU advanced to its second consecutive NCAA Championships final. Maxted won all five of his matches in the NCAA Tournament en route to garnering NCAA Championships All-Tournament Team honors at No. 3 singles.

Maxted and Vives produced a 15-1 record vs. ranked opponents and were 9-1 opposite top-10 tandems. They were rewarded with the ITA No. 1 doubles ranking at season's end.

The dual discipline prowess also culminated with Maxted qualifying for the ATP Next Gen Accelerator program. Maxted finished 34th in the ITA singles rankings but got the nod on the strength of his quarterfinal run at the NCAA Individual Championships. By virtue of his selection, Maxted can utilize up to eight wild cards and receive direct entry onto qualifying draws at ATP Challenger 50 and 75 events.

Maxted now embarks on his professional career as one of the winningest players in program history. He and Vives, along with fellow outgoing senior Luke Swan, formed the most accomplished graduating class TCU has seen. Together, they led the Horned Frogs to a 138-16 combined overall record and four team or individual national titles. Individually, Maxted closed the books on his college career with a 179-66 career combined record. He ranks eighth in program history in career combined winning percentage (.731) and tallied the seventh-most doubles victories of any Horned Frog (99).
