GoFrogs: King, Horned Frogs Lead at Hurricane Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Freshman Trinity King holds the individual lead, Greta Bruner set a TCU career record for eagles and the Horned Frogs have a seven-stroke lead after Monday's opening two rounds of the Hurricane Invitational.

Six of the 12 teams in the field are ranked in the top 50 in the nation. TCU shot an 8-over-par 584, seven shots ahead of No. 9 Arizona's 591.

King, from Arlington, Texas, is at 3-under 141, one shot ahead of Oklahoma State's Maja Stark.

Bruner recorded two eagles to become TCU's career leader with 10. Bruner broke the previous TCU record of eight shared by Rachel Raastad (2009-12) and Angela Stanford (1997-00).

Bruner's first eagle, in opening round play, came on the par 5, 459-yard 18th hole. In the second round, her eagle came on the par 5, 440-yard 15th hole.

"I'm proud of our commitment to our game plan and process," TCU Head Women's Golf Coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "We kept it simple and stayed focused. We are excited to compete tomorrow."

King totaled nine birdies on the day, including six in recording her second-round 70. Her 71 and 70 gave her eight rounds of below par this season.

Sabrina Iqbal is tied for fourth with a 2-over 146, five strokes behind King. She had two birdies and recorded par on 14 holes for her second-round 72. She had five birdies on the day.

Grace Do had four of her six birdies in the first round and is tied for 13th at 4-over 148.
