Jepkemboi Earns Bronze at NCAA Outdoor Championships​

Birdow advances to finals; nine Frogs earn All-American honors

EUGENE, Ore. – Irene Jepkemboi led the women on Day Two of the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, finishing third overall in the javelin throw Thursday evening at Hayward Field. TCU also advanced its 4x100m relay and Amelliah Birdow to the national finals, while nine Horned Frogs earned All-American honors.

Competing at the championship meet for the second year in a row, Jepkemboi finished on the podium in 2025 with a school record and Kenyan national record throw of 60.31m (197-10). The sophomore earned her second career All-American honors and was just four centimeters shy of the runner-up position.

The Frogs 4x100m relay of Teanna Harlin, Iyana Gray, London Tucker and Indya Mayberry stormed back on the homestretch to earn an automatic qualifier spot with a time of 42.97. It marks their second best run of the season ,with one more chance to top it on Saturday. TCU will be the No. 5 seed going into the finals.

Amelliah Birdow was the only other Frog to advance to the finals of their respective event. The sophomore finished second overall in her heat of the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.44 to secure the last spot in the event final.

Making her NCAA Championship debut, sophomore Amari Kiluvia finished 22ndin the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.58 to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Also competing in the javelin throw, senior Maria Bienvenu closed out her collegiate career as a Second Team All-American. The Natchitoches, Louisiana, native placed 14th with a throw of 52.87m (173.5).

A trio of Frogs competed in the 100m dash for TCU. Iyana Gray (11.20, 13th) and Indya Mayberry (11.24, 16th) took home Second Team All-American honors, while freshman London Tucker (11.26, 17th) received an Honorable Mention nod. Mayberry also ran the 200m, finishing 13th overall (22.76) to garner Second Team All-American honors.

Sophomore Tia Williams crossed the finish line as an Honorable Mention All-American, finishing with a time of 59.17 in the 400m hurdles.

The Frogs closed out the meet with a 22nd place finish in the 4x400m relay (3:37.59) as Williams, Birdow, Gray and Samarra Monrroy added Honorable Mention All-American honors to their name.

TCU's 4x100m relay and Birdow will wrap up the 2025 season on Saturday, June 14, in the final round of events at the NCAA Championships.
