Horned Frogs Primed for No. 6 Georgia
Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. CT from the DMC.
FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU returns to the hardwood Wednesday when it hosts No. 6 Georgia at 7:00 p.m. CT from Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
The Horned Frogs, who have won five-straight at the DMC, will look to garner their second win over the Lady Bulldogs in program history.
The game will be shown live on Fox Sports Southwest with Chuck LaMendola (Play-By-Play) and former Horned Frog great Janice Dziuk (Color) calling the action live.
The Opponent
Georgia, who is 11-0 and currently ranked No. 6 in the AP poll, heads into Wednesday's match-up fresh off a 93-42 dropping of Lipscomb. In the game, four Lady Bulldogs put up double-digit scoring outings, including Jasmine James and Tiaria Griffin who both scored 18 points apiece, respectively. In addition, Anne Marie Armstrong poured in 15 points, while Shacobia Barbee tallied 13.
On the season, All-America candidate Jasmine Hassell has carried the Georgia attack, averaging 12.3 points per game, while grabbing 5.5 boards a contest. James has also been solid, scoring 11.6 points a game and 3.4 assists per contest.
In all, the Lady Bulldogs will be playing only their third road contest Wednesday of the season, having played at New Mexico and at Georgia Tech earlier.
The Series
TCU and Georgia will be meeting for only the seventh time in program history Wednesday. The Lady Bulldogs currently own a 5-1 advantage in the series and have won the last four outings against the Frogs, including an 83-60 decision last season. TCU's lone win in the six previous meetings came in 2004 when the Purple and White upended Georgia, 64-63.
Playing Top 10 Opponents
Georgia will bring a No. 6 ranking into Daniel-Meyer Coliseum Wednesday night. During the Jeff Mittie era, the Frogs have played nine top 10 opponents at the DMC. TCU is 3-6 all-time under Mittie against teams ranked in the top 10.
TCU Versus The SEC
When TCU faces off against Georgia Wednesday, it will mark only the 49th meeting between the Horned Frogs and a Southeastern Conference school. Since 2000, TCU has notched six victories over SEC competition, including Wednesday night's opponent Georgia in 2004.
Mittie Impressive Against The SEC
Head Coach Jeff Mittie has fared well recently against SEC schools and will look to continue that trend Wednesday night. At TCU, Mittie has recorded all of TCU's six victories, including wins over Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.
Medley Honored By Big 12
For the second time in three weeks, freshman Zahna Medley was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Freshman of the Week Monday.
Medley scored 21 points and grabbed a career-high six rebounds from her point guard position in leading TCU to a 67-60 victory over Sam Houston State Sunday. The freshman hit 6-of-11 from the floor against the Bearkats, including 6-of-10 from three-point range. She also had three assists and two steals.

Freshman Zahna Medley has scored 20 or more points twice this season, while leading all league freshmen in scoring on the year. She is also the only rookie in the Big 12 and one of two players among all classes to have two games of six or more three's.
Last Time Out
TCU had four players score in double-figures Sunday as the Horned Frogs derailed Sam Houston State at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, 67-60.
The Frogs, who led by as many as 12, scored on the opening possession and never looked back as some late free throws helped seal TCU's fifth-straight victory at the DMC. For a majority of the day, the bench did most of the damage for the Frogs, outscoring the Bearkats, 21-8.
TCU's defense presence in the game was also noticeable as the Frogs forced 17 turnovers, while blocking Sam Houston State 10 different times, which hasn't happened in a game since recording 10 last December against Texas Southern. Eight of the 10 blocks came by junior Latricia Lovings, who also grabbed 10 boards Sunday. Lovings' eight blocks is tied with current professional and former Frog great Sandora Irvin for the seventh-most in program history.
The Purple and White, now 5-3 on the year, were led offensively by freshman Zahna Medley. The Illinois native scored 21 points, while also grabbing a career-high six boards from her point-guard position.
