FORT WORTH – TCU has found its next center.

The Horned Frogs announced the signing of Kentucky transfer Clara Silva to their 2025-26 roster on Friday.

Silva, 6-7, saw action in all 31 contests for the Wildcats last season, averaging 4.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks across 12.5 minutes per game. Originally from Faro, Portugal, Silva was among the top international prospects in the class of 2024. She has competed in the Portuguese National Team system since 2021 and played three seasons for Unicaja in the Spain-LF Challenge league.

She originally committed to Virginia Tech but followed Kenny Brooks to Kentucky following his appointment as the Wildcats head coach in April of 2024.

Silva is the third transfer player to sign with the Horned Frogs in the 2025 recruiting cycle, joining guards Olivia Miles and Taliyah Parker. TCU also landed centers Emily Hunter and Sarah Portlock and 6-2 wing Clara Bielefeld during November's early signing period.

Her collegiate debut was nothing short of spectacular. Silva was tabbed SEC Freshman of the Week on Nov. 12. She averaged 16 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocks per game across Kentucky's opening week victories over Manhattan and Northern Kentucky. Silva posted a 14-point, seven-rebound and six-block stat line against the Jaspers in her first game across the pond. She then scored a career-high 18 points vs. NKU.

Silva logged at least 10 minutes in 19 of her outings and was one of only six players to appear in every game for the Wildcats. She finished with 12 points and eight boards in a season-high 30 minutes of action in a narrow loss to No. 7 LSU on Feb. 23.

In her final season with Unicaja in 2023-24, Silva averaged 9.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. She delivered a standout performance in a win over Maresme in November of 2023, tallying 28 points on 13-19 shooting along with 12 rebounds and four assists.

Silva has been a mainstay in FIBA competitions. She first represented her native Portugal at the 2021 FIBA U16 Women's European Challengers and received international call-ups in subsequent years for the 2022 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship and 2023 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship. Silva averaged 18.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.6 assists per game across seven outings at the U18 European Championship.
