FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU baseball senior catcher Bryan Holaday has been named one of three finalists for the Coleman Company-Johnny Bench Award. The winner of the award will be announced on July 1 in Wichita, Kansas.

Holaday has put together an outstanding senior campaign for the fifth-ranked TCU Horned Frogs. In addition to being named first-team all-conference, Holaday has also earned MVP honors at the Houston College Classic and the Mountain West Conference postseason tournament.

Offensively, he is hitting .357 and is one of only two Frogs to have played in all 57 games this season. Of his 85 hits on the season, 22 are doubles, 1 triple and 12 home runs. He has driven in 46 runs to rank fourth on the team.

His defensive numbers are nothing short of outstanding. He has tallied a team-high six pick-offs and thrown out 21 of 41 attempted base stealers.

A final vote among the national committee will occur during the College World Series. All finalists will be brought to Wichita and the winner will be announced at the 13th Annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet on July 1, 2010.

The other two finalists for the award are Miami's Yasmani Grandal and Coastal Carolina's Jose Iglesias.
