AUSTIN, Texas--TCU suffered a 60-43 road setback to Texas on Saturday at the Frank Erwin Center in the teams' first meeting as Big 12 members. Senior forward Adrick McKinney led the Horned Frogs in scoring with 13 points.

The loss dropped TCU's season record to 9-12 overall, including 0-8 in Big 12 Conference play. Texas improved to 10-11 overall and 2-6 in the league standings.

McKinney continued his breakthrough senior campaign by hitting 5-of-9 field-goal attempts and pulling down eight rebounds for the Frogs. He led the squad in the scorebook for the second straight game while reaching double figures for the third consecutive contest to match a career-long streak.

Also continuing his solid recent play was senior forward Connell Crossland, who totaled eight points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Saturday's effort marked Crossland's third double-figure rebound performance of the season and his sixth game leading the squad on the glass.

Senior guard/forward Garlon Green chipped in eight points, including both of TCU's 3-point baskets.

TCU's trend of shooting struggles continued against the Longhorns, as the Frogs made only 17-of-52 field-goal attempts (32.7 percent) on the evening. The squad also hit only two of its 13 3-point tries while going 7-of-15 at the free-throw line. UT had no such issues from the floor, making more than 52 percent of its field-goal attempts (23-of-44). TCU did manage to win the rebounding battle for the first time since the Big 12 opener vs. Texas Tech, 33-30.

The two teams were in a tight battle in the game's opening 10 minutes until the Longhorns took control of the contest. UT outscored the Frogs by a 17-7 margin to end the half, as TCU made only 3-of-10 shots and totaled six of its 13 turnovers in the stretch. Texas exited the locker room at intermission with a 32-20 lead that quickly grew to a 19-point edge just minutes into the second half after the squad scored the first seven points of the period.

Typical of TCU's effort this season, the squad did not give up. It cut the deficit back to single digits late in the contest after finally getting some shots to fall from outside. Garlon Green drilled both of TCU's 3-pointers on the night, the last of which completed an 8-1 run that pushed the score to 48-39 with just over seven minutes remaining. The run would be the Frogs' last, as they recorded only two more baskets the remainder of the contest.

TCU returns home to play host to Kansas on Wednesday at a sold-out Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Tip-off for the contest, which will be televised live by ESPNU, is scheduled for 8 p.m.
