AMES, Iowa – TCU never led in an 82-52 loss at No. 8 Iowa State Saturday at Hilton Coliseum.
Going against one of the best defensive teams in the nation, the Horned Frogs (12-11, 5-7) shot 35.8 percent and were 2-of-14 from three for 14.3 percent.
The Cyclones (18-5, 8-4) shot 59.6 percent from the field, including 47.4 percent from 3-point range. ISU shot 70.8 percent from the field in the first half and led 42-24 at the break.
TCU was led in scoring by Vasean Allette and Trazarien White, who each finished with nine points. White made each of the TCU's 3-pointers, all coming in the first half.
Curtis Jones led the Cyclones with 24 points and was 5-of-6 from three. The other four 3-pointers by ISU came from Milan Momcilovic who had 14 points.
The Horned Frogs return to action on Wednesday when they host Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. and will air on ESPN+. Tickets for the game are being sold for $5 to commemorate head coach Jamie Dixon's 500th career win, which occurred on Wednesday against West Virginia.
TEAM NOTES
- TCU fell to 14-18 all-time against Iowa State. The Cyclones have won the past six meetings.
- The Frog moved to 1-6 on the road this season.
- Iowa State shot 59.6 percent from the field and 47.4 percent from 3-point range. Both were the most by a TCU opponent this season.
- TCU had 10 turnovers. It was the most the Frogs have had in six games.
- TCU's 19 made field goals was its fewest of the season.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Vasean Allette and Trazarien White each had nine points to lead the team. For Allette, it was the seventh time he's led the team in scoring. For White, it tied for the second-most he's scored in a Big 12 game this season.
- Allette led the team in assists for the eighth time this season with five. It was the third-straight game he's had at least five assists.
- Malick Diallo and Ernest Udeh Jr. each led the Frogs with five rebounds. For Udeh, it was the 10th time he's led the team in rebounding. For Diallo, it was his fourth game leading on the boards.
