ORLANDO, Fla. – UCF scored four unanswered to take the series with a 4-2 win over No. 25 TCU Saturday afternoon at John Euliano Park. Nolan Traeger tallied two hits in the loss and Chase Brunson extended his reached base streak to 40 games.
The Rundown
TCU opened the scoring with two runs in the second. Noah Franco led off the inning with an infield single and moved to third on a one-out base knock from Nolan Traeger. Anthony Silva grounded out to drive in the first run and Sam Myers dumped a single into center for a 2-0 lead.
UCF wasted little time tying the game, scoring two runs on three hits in the bottom of the inning. A one-out home run was followed by a walk. Back-to-back two out singles tied the game at two.
After wiggling out of a jam in the fourth in which the Frogs had two in scoring position with one out, the Knights carried the momentum into the bottom of the inning. A lead-off double eventually scored on a ground out for a 3-2 lead. The Knights picked up a big insurance run with a two-out home run in the seventh.
Caedmon Parker (2-1) started for the Horned Frogs and allowed three runs on five hits over 3 1/3 innings of work. Mason Brassfield pitched the final 4 2/3 innings for the Frogs. He allowed a run on three hits, struck out four and walked one.
Stat of the Game:
40 – Chase Brunson stretched his reached base safely streak to 40 games. It's the longest reached base streak in TCU baseball's documented history, topping Chad Huffman's 39 game streak in 2004.

With the loss, TCU falls to 29-12 overall and 12-6 in Big 12 play. TCU will return to action Friday night when it hosts Baylor for a three game series. The series opener is slated to begin at 6 p.m. The entire series will be televised on ESPN+.
