GoFrogs: Cam Norrie, Alastair Gray Competing in Wimbledon Main Draw

FORT WORTH
– Two former Horned Frogs have earned main draw singles selections for The Championships, Wimbledon 2022. Cameron Norrie is the No. 9 seed in the tournament while Alastair Gray will be playing in his first-career singles main draw at the Grand Slam, as a Wildcard.

Norrie, the British No. 1, will be making his fifth main draw appearance at Wimbledon. He holds a 3-4 record at the tournament with his best finish coming in 2021, when he reached the third round. This is his 19th Grand Slam event, hoping to reach the Round of 16 for the first time in his career.

Norrie is taking on Spain's Pablo Andujar (No. 100) in the opening round today, looking for his 15th career victory at a Grand Slam.

Gray, a 2021 graduate of TCU, will be making his Grand Slam singles debut this week as a Wildcard. Wimbledon granted him the position as the ninth highest ranked British player in the world (No. 288).

Gray will battle another young talent on the ATP Tour, Chun-hsin Tseng, the No. 95-ranked player in the world from Taiwan. Neither player has ever won a Grand Slam singles match, with Tseng playing in his first-career Wimbledon singles draw as well. That match will take place tomorrow.

All matches can be watched on ESPN+.
