Saw an interview with South Carolina's interim baseball HC. He stated the difference between SC's CWS years and current teams is program culture and kids that dream to play at SC.
I wonder if that's the difference between TCU's CWS years and today's. How does a program motivate a pay for play kid that's been to 3 schools, or a 1 and done player? Best chose those players wisely or get some new psychological skills.

This is truly an embarrassment. What a disaster this season has turned out to be. After those first two games it has been awful. In the third game in Arlington, we got run ruled by Oklahoma. I chalked that up to it being early in the season. Little did I know that this was going to be more of a representation of the season than the first two games.

We need a new pitching coach and a new hitting coach. Do we need a new head coach as well? I'll hang up and listen.

I was so excited after we beat Vandy and Arky. I thought this was going to be a great year. And then ou and uta rained on my parade. And like you said, it was downhill after that. Major disappointment.

We need more Frog factor.

I kid, but in the same vein as what Paint said, college baseball went from a world where you worried that your players/recruits would go to the league to a world where you also have to worry about them going to any other school.

And you have to try to recruit players who are good enough, who are coachable, and who aren't focused on making themselves look good to other suitors.

I'm not at all sure what the answer is. We've established something of a reputation as a place that can develop guys (particularly pitchers) for professional success. If we can develop and maintain that reputation, it would be huge.

If you look back since KS has been head coach we really only had one month of great baseball (end of 2023 season) and the rest of the time we've underperformed, often badly. Some serious changes need to be made soon.

What is the status of CKS' contract? How many more years and how much is the buy out? That will determine if we are going to make any changes. I doubt we have the money to cough up a large buyout plus bring in a new staff.

The other question is simple: is it a better strategy to give CKS more resources than start over with a new coach?
