Bielefeld to Compete for Team Germany in EuroBasket 2025
Is the youngest player to suit up for Germany's senior national team

FORT WORTH – TCU women's basketball is home to an active member of a senior national team.
Clara Bielefeld, a soon-to-be freshman on the Horned Frogs' 2025-26 roster, was selected to compete for the German National Team in the FIBA Women's EuroBasket Championship, beginning Thursday in Hamburg, Germany.
At age-17, Bielefeld is the youngest player to ever compete for Germany's senior national team. She received her first call-up to the parent club in May for a series of international friendlies. Bielefeld averaged five rebounds, four points and 2.5 steals across 21 minutes per game in four outings. She tallied 10 points and four rebounds opposite Belgium on June 12.
Bielefeld has been a mainstay in international competition for the German Basketball Federation over the last three seasons. She was the top performer for Team Germany in the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket in July. The 6-4 guard averaged 9.4 rebounds, 7.4 points, 5.4 assists, two blocks and one steal per game while tallying the second-most assists (38) of any player in the tournament. Bielefeld was tabbed MVP of the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket Division B as a 15-year-old in 2023.
EuroBasket 2025 runs from June 18-29 with preliminary round games taking place across four countries; Germany, Italy, Greece and the Czech Republic.
Bielefeld and Team Germany are hosting EuroBasket Women for the first time ever. Germany earned the No. 2 seed in Group D and will battle Great Britain, Sweden and Spain in pool play. The knockout stage begins on June 24.
The top six teams earn a berth to a qualifying tournament for the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, with Germany having already qualified as the host nation.
