TCU begins double-elimination tournament against 10-seed Georgia State​

GULF SHORES, Ala. – No. 2 TCU Beach Volleyball (39-3) earned its spot in the NCAA Elite 8 on Wednesday by sweeping Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 3-0. The Horned Frogs now enter the double elimination portion of the tournament, beginning with a 11 a.m. dual against 10-seeded Georgia State on Friday, May 6.

With a win, TCU will take on the winner of 3-seed UCLA and 6-seed LSU at 4 p.m. later that day. Should TCU lose, it will battle the loser of the UCLA vs. LSU match in the elimination bracket at 2 p.m.

FROG FOCUS
TCU returns to the NCAA Tournament for the second time after its greatest season in program history. The Horned Frogs won 38 matches this season, including 14 against Top 10-ranked opponents and 21 over Top 20 - all program records.

Alvarez and Moreno, the winningest pairing in TCU program history, notched their 52nd win together in the opening round (52-15). They are 26-6 together at the No. 1 spot this season, with a stellar 12-4 record against ranked teams.

Megan Muret / Rochelle Scott set a program record last match by securing their 29th win of the season together, the most by a TCU pairing in program history. Muret now owns 33 victories this year, the most by any Horned Frog in a single season, with Scott close behind at 32, the most by a TCU underclassman.

TCU is now 1-2 all time at the NCAA Tournament, with a combined score of 4-6 after last season. The No. 2-seeded Frogs are 5-0 against their possible opponents tomorrow with a 1-0 record against Georgia State with a pair of wins against both UCLA and LSU.
