GoFrogs: TCU Charts Another Unbeaten Weekend; Sweeps Day 2 of Surf N’ Turf Invitational

MIAMI, FLA. –
No. 1 TCU beach volleyball (16-0) charted another unbeaten weekend at the FIU Surf N' Turf Invitational in Miami, Fla. The Horned Frogs added another win over a ranked opponent, sweeping No. 15 FAU, 5-0. A 5-0 sweep of Jacksonville wrapped up another successful weekend.

The Horned Frogs have tallied 12 sweeps this season, including three over ranked opponents. The Frogs have tied the program record of most single season ranked sweeps at three that was set during the 2022 season.

TCU showcased its dominance on the final day in Miami, winning 20 out of the 21 sets played today.

Six Horned Frogs put together perfect 4-0 records in the tournament.: Hailey Brockett, Anhelina Khmil, Sutton MacTavish, Kate Privett, Rochelle Scott and Ana Vergara.

QUICK HITS AGAINST No. 15 Florida Atlantic:
Daniela Alvarez and Kate Privett scored the first point of the day with their straight-set victory from the No. 2 position: 21-13, 21-15.
• The duo tallied their first career victory as a pairing.
• Alvarez improved her record this season to 13-1 and Privett to 13-1.
• Alvarez and Privett both claimed their sixth ranked victory of the season.
Keagan Polk and Hailey Hamlett notched the second point of dual for the Frogs in a straight set victory at the No. 5 position: 21-15, 21-17.
• The duo notched their first career victory as a pairing.
• Hamlett improved her record to 8-2 and Polk remained undefeated at 5-0.
• Hamlett tallied her third ranked victory of the season and Polk her first.
Sutton MacTavish and Ana Vergara secured the Horned Frog victory for the seventh time this season, at the No. 1 position: 21-13, 22-20.
• The duo improved their record this season to 4-1.
• MacTavish notched her fifth ranked victory this season and Vergara her sixth.
Rochelle Scott and Hailey Brockett scored the next point for TCU in a three-set victory from No. 4: 21-14, 19-21, 15-7.
• The duo remained perfect as partners, improving to 7-0.
• Individually, the duo remains perfect this season, Scott at 15-0 and Brockett at 8-0.
• Scott claimed her seventh ranked victory of the season and Brockett her seventh.
Maria Gonzalez and Anhelina Khmil tallied the final point for TCU in a three-set victory from No. 3: 21-13, 24-22.
• The duo notched their first career victory as a pairing.
• Gonzalez improved her record this season to 13-2 and Khmil remains perfect, 14-0.
• Gonzalez claimed her fifth ranked victory this season and Khmil her seventh.
• The Horned Frogs even their all-time record against the Owls to 4-4.

QUICK HITS AGAINST Jacksonville:
Daniela Alvarez and Kate Privett snatched the first point of the duel in straight sets from the No. 2 position: 21-10, 21-12.
• The pairing remained perfect this season, 2-0.
Maria Gonzalez and Hailey Hamlett took the second point for the Frogs in straight sets from the No. 4 position: 21-13, 21-12.
• The duo improved their record this season to 7-2.
Sutton MacTavish and Ana Vergara clinched the TCU victory in at the No. 1 position: 21-15, 21-12.
• The pairing notched their fifth victory of the season together.
Anhelina Khmil and Hallie Corinne Frist claimed the fourth point for the Frogs from the No. 3 position: 21-16, 21-13.
• This was the duo's first appearance and victory as partners this season.
Hailey Brockett and Rochelle Scott secured the TCU sweep in straight sets at the No. 5 position: 21-13, 21-10.
• The pairing remains unbeaten, tallying their eight win of the season together.
• TCU won all 20 sets played against Jacksonville.
• The Horned Frogs remain perfect all-time against the Dolphins, 3-0.
