We were actually pretty lucky we did not get swept. Hoping ASU is better than we think but nervous about the rest of the season from initial expectations.

What I feared… Kirk seems to be a great guy. But when you hire a HC with zero HC experience, this is what is most likely to happen

I would rather a good coach that knows how to win even if he has 0 HC experience. Vitello and now Ellander come to mind as well as Wes Johnson.

I would think KS could “see” pitching talent that he seems to miss. I am hoping the curse of small, private school, limited resources in baseball has not caught up to TCU and NIL.
I would have thought BM crash and burn at OSU would not have opened a “door” here.

We lost our two top pitchers and just had an injury to pre-season A-A outfielder. We are underperforming but it needs some context.

What really sucked this weekend is having Klecker mow us down. We should not have let him get away.

As in previous years with football, men's basketball and now baseball, conditioning is becoming more apparent an area where the programs are sorely (almost a pun intended) lacking....

The issue for me is they keep happening year after year. Can we not adjust our offseason throwing regimen or strength training? Using the injury excuse every year is lame.

I know this doesn’t make it any better, but every program in the country battles health across the roster. Top arms go down on almost every team each year. And their backups either step up or they don’t.

We aren’t unique in that, nor do I suspect our history is an outlier. We just know about our injuries more than we know about everybody else’s.

But not just two pitchers going down. Our top two. And what is being put in two replace them is not very good or consistent. It has had a huge impact on the pitching staff.

But it is every year and we keep receiving high pressure-season expectations only to keep proving them wrong.

His seat is definitely going to start warming up. He can’t live off the CWS year with what has happened since.

its a lame excuse when 4 of the 5 years Loos has been our HC we have not even been competitive in the post season if we made it at all.

When I counted a few weeks ago - there are currently 4 former TCU pitchers starting for other D1 schools - that is the issue, not that we lost a couple of our guys "again"

You are correct - one CWS run 5 years ago for a program that has shown we can get there consistently with a different HC is not even close to good enough

If Saarloos stays, he needs a better hitting coach and a real pitching coach. I believe Saarloos knew we were over-rated. He should have never scheduled UCLA as that series blew all confidence this team had. Even if we had no pitching injuries, this group can't hit. If we don't get lots of walks, we aren't scoring much. ASU had several hitters that were better than anyone we have.

After Stro and Chase, and then Unc, there is a severe drop-off at the plate. Lucas is good for a freshman. Traeg needs to heat up. I'll stop there.

We need to make some drastic changes this off season because we are headed in the wrong direction. We won't need a new stadium at this rate.
