GoFrogs: TCU’s Win Streak Reaches Four Games
FORT WORTH – TCU raced out to an early lead and never looked back en route to an 18-5 win over Kansas on Saturday afternoon at Lupton Stadium. The victory extends TCU's winning streak to four in a row. Karson Bowen homered and drove in four to lead the offense, while Kole Klecker tossed seven strong innings on the mound.

The Rundown
TCU jumped out to an early lead on Karson Bowen's three run home run with two outs in the first.

After Kansas pulled to within one in the second, TCU responded with a five spot. Elijah Nunez walked, stole second and moved to third on an error. Anthony Silva reached on an error to drive in Nunez for the first run of the frame. A Brayden Taylor ground out drove in Silva. After a wild pitch plated another run, an RBI double from Cole Fontenelle and a Bowen base hit followed for an 8-2 lead.

More walks led to another two runs in the sixth as Elijah Nunez and David Bishop scored on a Tre Richardson base hit for a 10-3 lead. Silva picked up an RBI-single in the seventh to make it 11-3.

TCU responded to a pair of eighth inning Kansas runs with a seven spot in its half of the frame. A lead-off single was followed by four straight walks and TCU lead 13-5. Nunez singled home two more runs with a bases-loaded single. Bishop, Boyers and Richardson also tallied RBIs in the frame.

Kole Klecker (4-2) picked up the win after allowing just three runs (two earned) on eight hits. He walked one and struck out five. Mason Speaker allowed two runs on two hits and struck out three in the eight, while Justin Hackett retired all three batters he faced in the ninth.

TCU had 16 base runners reach either by walk, hit batter or error in the game. TCU drew 11 walks, matching a season-high, was hit by a pitch three times and two batters reached on an error. Fourteen of three free passes came around to score.

With the win, TCU improves to 14-9 on the season and 3-2 in Big 12 play. TCU will go for the series sweep on Sunday afternoon at 1. Cam Brown will get the start for the Horned Frogs. The contest will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
