GoFrogs: Bane Leads Frogs Past Longhorns, 69-56
AUSTIN, Texas - Junior Desmond Bane scored a career-high 34 points to lead TCU to a 69-56 win at Texas Saturday in its regular season finale.

It was a career day for Bane who was 14-of-20 from the field, including 6-of-8 from 3-point range after hitting his first six shots from beyond-the-arc. He also played all 40 minutes, a big boost for the Frogs (19-12, 7-11) who for the sixth-straight game saw just seven players see the floor.

TCU opened the game making four of its first five shots, grabbing a 10-7 lead just over four minutes into the game. But the Texas (16-15, 8-10) defense held the Horned Frogs to just six points over the next 10 minutes of the half as they grabbed a 22-16 lead with 7:08 remaining in the half. However, the Frogs ended the half on a 19-5 scoring run and made seven of their last nine shots and their last three 3-pointers to lead 35-27 at the break.

The Horned Frogs continued their hot shooting in the second half, making four of their first five shots to begin the half on a 9-4 run to expand their lead to 44-31 with 16:27 remaining. TCU cruised from there as its lead never dipped below 10 points. Bane's fifth of six 3-pointers gave the Frogs their largest lead of the game, 61-41, with 9:25 to play.

The Frogs shot 54 percent from the field, their best shooting effort in eight games, and a season-best 52.9 percent from 3-point range. They also outrebounded the Longhorns 35-24.
