GoFrogs: Baker Dashes to First Olympic Games

EUGENE, Ore. — TCU alumnus Ronnie Baker has claimed a spot on Team USA at the 2021 Olympics.

Baker rose to the occasion, clocking a personal-best 9.85 for second place in the 100m finals to advance to Tokyo.

The 27-year-old ran a 9.88 in the first round, recording the second fastest time overall and winning his heat. In semifinals, he placed second in his heat and third overall with a 9.94.

During his time in Fort Worth, Baker was a two-time national champion in the 60m and a 12-time All-American. His indoor personal-best time in the 60m is 6.40, slotting him as the third-fastest man in the history of the event.

Former Frog Kim Colins was the last track & field standout to represent TCU at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio for St. Kitts. Collins made his Olympic debut back in 1996 and was his country's flag bearer in 2012.
