GoFrogs: Allkins’ Career Best Leads TCU

ALPHARETTA, Ga. –
Senior Thomas Allkins recorded his first-career top 10 finish to lead the TCU men's golf team Sunday at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational.

Allkins made eight birdies to shoot a career-best 7-under 65. Included was a string of five-straight birdies. The Keller, Texas native moved up 24 spots to finish in a tie for ninth place with a career-best score of 7-under 209.

Allkins paced the Horned Frogs' best round of the season. TCU shot 13-under 275 to move up three spots to 11th at 6-under 858. Only two teams shot better on Sunday, including defending NCAA Champion Pepperdine (-16), which won the 15-team tournament that featured eight top 25 teams. The Waves finished 42-under par and broke the tournament record by 14 strokes.

Senior Justin Gums carded back-to-back eagles on his way to score of 3-under 69. Gums' eagles came on the par 5 No. 18 hole and the par 5 No. 1. He finished tied for 43rd with a score of 1-over 217.

Junior Gustav Frimodt finished tied for 52nd at 3-over 219. Junior Aymeric Laussot had his best round Sunday at 4-under 68 to finish 4-over 220 to tie with junior Jacob Skov Olesen for 56th place.

The Horned Frogs will be back in action in 2022 at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawaii, Feb. 3-5.
