Godspeed, Chris Ault....and thank you!

[SwissArmyFrog]

Chris Ault is retiring as coach of Nevada after 28 years.

Thank you, coach, for putting together the team that beat Boise, putting us in the Rose Bowl. I'll always be grateful. May you enjoy your retirement as much as I have enjoyed my Rose Bowl memories ~

He is a very talented coach who built a program in the Nevada high country and stayed with it, when he could have gone a couple of hundred miles west and been a big shot in the Pac-10/12. He's a good man who deserves respect. (If he had kept playing Nevada ball a few days ago instead of trying to run out the clock, he would have retired with a victory over a Pac-12 team.) He had a great career, taking Nevada from Division II, to the Big Sky, to national relevance. Godspeed indeed.
