I was at the game yesterday in a position to see what was going on our sidelines during the game. I will say again, Gary Patterson, while in Coach P mode is not the problem. He had, by far, the most juice of anyone on that sideline.

If changes need to be made in the off season with some of the other coaches in order to get us back to playing Frog Ball and winning 10-plus a season so be it. We should have beaten K-State, we should always beat SMU at home, Iowa State was a 50/50 game. But I will say again, Coach P in Coach P mode is part of the solution and Gary ain't going out this way. I think next year is his 20th season as head coach, so people need to back off for what he's done for TCU. We have very talented young players and Coach P will get this fixed.

Go Frogs and let's beat the Fighting UT Del Contes this week that almost lost to a KU team we blew out!

This has nothing to do with getting talented players. Again... we have had the #3 recruiting classes the past three years. I have zero doubt CGP will be back next season. He seriously needs to evaluate his coaching staff and make changes. Outside of Cumbie, potentially, there will be no changes.

I respect your positivity and sunshine but material changes should have been last off season.

We all agree that GP has been an awesome coach and we all respect him; but, on the other hand, TCU is paying him $6MM annually and with that pay check comes accountability for his decisions and performance.

His performance this year is C+ at best

He's made the school plenty of money, for them to pay him that $6M.

Does he need an accountability? Yes, everyone does.

How do you change the coaching staff? And how do you get GP to change the staff?

I'm 100% behind Coach P and the D. He will fix it.

TCU Off Season Chop list, or whatever Gary wants to call it:

Cumbie
Burns
Sharp
Anderson
The entire training staff
Sommers
The Head of Training, Gable

We used to be more physical and just punished teams and they new it was coming before the game started. TCU does not do this anymore and something is wrong. We are also almost never wide open on any offensive play at any point in the season. Good play calling makes that happen. See Andy Reid's offense ever year, almost every game for details.

Start there. I think if he makes these moves he will save this program and the rest of the TCU coaching families he's trying to protect. Donati may need to get involved here because this will be difficult, but the purple indians on the Fort Worth reservation are getting restless at the product we have been consistently seeing on the field. We've nailed recruiting and facilities, coaching has been poor and we are getting out hustled. That's not the TCU football we've come to know. No more Gary looking shell shocked after post game press conferences.

You guys that think GP is past his prime may or may not be right

but what I do know is he has/had something special and when it’s gone - we will be fighting for 3rd place in the conference year after year

you guys watch Baylor the next couple of weeks as they go from Cinderella story to a distant 3rd in the conference

or OSU the last 10 years or Iowa State when they are good - that will be our program when that spark is gone whether GP retires or just loses it

or Aggy as they pay for Championships and stand inline behind LSU, Georgia and Bama

some coach coming from wake or temple may get us 9 wins in a good year- but that will be the top end of our future when GP is finally done

Kansas was a crap situation. It aint like he preferred to walk into that mess. He wanted to be here. There is no denying how much better this offense was with him here.

Meacham's 2016 TCU offense was (B12 ranks) #8/10 in scoring, #7/10 in total offense, #8/10 in pass efficiency, #8/10 in 3rd down conversion rate, #8/10 red zone offense, #8/10 in TOP.

We're currently better in ALL of these categories except pass efficiency. And that is with a true FR qb instead of a rJR qb. So no, the offense was not better under meacham and he got fired as a result. I want cumbie gone but meach is a downgrade

When in doubt just blame everything on "they knew our signals." When this happens the the 15th time there is no need to change them! They worked in 2005 so we will not adapt! Somebody get me an $8 beer at Reservoir!

Gary has a brilliant football mind. He will get this right. As much as he may not want to, he knows that a number of these assistants need to go or retire. They are simply not getting the job done. I don't care how good of recruiters they are if they cannot coach. Oh, and we need a dedicated Special Team's coach. They CAN make the difference in a close game and in the Big 12 that happens a lot.

With respect, this has been the case since at least 2012 and he hasn’t gotten rid of a single one of the problems. I honestly just don’t think he has it in him to fire or demote these guys.

I believe the criticism is based on the fact that this should have been known and acted-upon several years ago. How is it possible that in all the years of his coaching tenure, he hasn't terminated a single coach for cause except for the DUI guy a decade ago? Hell, he didn't even fire Meach but merely demoted him in order to keep SC from jumping ship. You're telling me not one single coach he has ever had on staff has deserved firing? Pretty lucky run of staff hires if you think that is reality.

This wins dumbest post of the thread. baylor is on track for 10 wins plus a potential bowl win right now, no reason we can't be the same when GP decides to retire if we find a solid coach to replace him

On their way to a 10 win season, 3rd place in the B12 and the Alamo bowl.

Like I said - that is their ceiling and ours also after the magic GP has is gone.

i think it worked for over achieving underdogs, both players and coaches.

I see these kids on tv with little to no respect. I see their ideas on socialism, government, law enforcement, social compatibility, their need for immediate rewards with little effort AND wonder how do you motivate today's society? On a personal note, we're having a devil of a time with this young generation. They're smart and often very creative. But... We've gone to extraordinary lengths to hire companies who specialize finding the right morally, productive person. Thoughtful adaptation is the key, we learned that early on. Unfortunately some of you will not understand this post.

hell, the programs ceiling right now isn't 10 wins and a 3rd place finish with gary.

i really don't know what world some of you live in that you don't see that regression is setting into this program and tcu is not keeping pace in multiple ways with other programs.

is it time to panic? no, but the reality is that there are a number of things that have to take place before a foundation cracks and those have been going on for some time.

i don’t buy this at all. Show the full percentages and not ranks out of 10.

our 3rd down offense is abysmal. This offense feels so much worse than 2016 and even last year

We literally have zero chance at a national championship. This year, next year, whenever. ZERO.
