I don’t think we’re very good and didn’t have much hope coming into the season but I ABSOLUTELY believe we would’ve had 2-4 more wins over this year and the last 2 through better coaching decisions.

I also think Sonny lost his arguably two best coaches after that first year when the two recruiting guru studs left for other schools.
Anthony Jones Jr RB coach to USC in march 2024. He worked under Garret Riley who probably referred him to his brother. Jimmy Smith the current RB coach has no record of coaching Kenneth Gainwell, Antonio Gibson, Darrell Henderson, Tony Pollard, Emani Bailey, Emari Demarcado, Kendre Miller into the NFL
Paul Gonzales DB coach at TCU for 13 years goes to baylor in January.
Zarnell Fitch DL coach leaves to Texas Tech in spring of 2022.

Since all 3 of these guys left, TCU has had cratering play with all 3 position groups.

If you want some background on my model, it really isn’t anything special. I originally built it to adjust for the SEC’s eight-game conference schedule by replacing the data with a hypothetical nine-game schedule. I wanted to see how that change would affect ratings and strength of schedule. I never got that part to work.

So, what I ended up with is a model based on basic scoring data and SOS ratings. If you know how to build databases in Excel, you could probably create the same thing.

He is definitely too soft on them if this is real. If Hoover refuses to run, then take his ass out or make his ass run in practuce until he gets the point.

Yeah I don’t get this. He’s like deer in the headlights. Being able to occasionally make plays with his legs is important to being successful at the position. Briles needs to drill that into his head.

Uhh, correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t they say this last year too?
Just another bs excuse. We have a huge conversion down opportunity and coaches send the running back in motion to tip our hand that Hoover will pass, allowing their defense to drop into coverage.

…just a pathetic bit of coaching against the 3-3-5….but Dykes haas the nerve to call out Hoover in public? Can you imagine if Hoover wondered allowed why the coaches are tipping our hand rather than going play action in a possible running play?

Dykes is on full spin mode, but he looks just like Gary in his final year just trying to get one more year. Not the look of a leader. Only thing he can do because the play calling is the same crap we’ve seen for years…exact same crap we saw against ISU in 2023…and he learned NOTHING.
