Defense played very well. I honestly think that if Hoover doesn’t throw the first INT (on 1st down, a TERRIBLE decision) that game could’ve turned out far different. We were up 14 and had just picked up an easy first down and they were on their heels and kind of reeling. But alas, we have a QB who regularly makes those kind of boneheaded mistakes.
It should have been a blowout.

Sure it wasn’t horrific by 1980-earl 1990s but pretty damn awful.
22 first downs and +400 yards, and none of it in garbage time, would only be described as “horrific” by someone with a stupid axe to grind or a complete dumbass who knows nothing about football. Which of those are you?

We had a couple really dumb INTs by the QB, the offense wasn’t “horrific” by any remotely reasonable standard.

Remember what George C Scott said in Patton: “Dammit, I don’t want these people to love me! I want ‘em to fight for me!”
In the Dallas Cowboys documentary on Netflix, I was shocked to learn a lot of players loved Switzer with the Cowboys because he was nice to them without correcting their mistakes.

It angered Aikman so much because it meant he was left trying to coach them.

Overly soft managers who are afraid of confrontation last a bit longer, but accomplish little. You also have to be careful not to be too in their face these days…ahem, GP.
