All in all, that was a good finish to the regular season. It was a frustrating journey for fans (and I'm sure for players, too). Hope we get to see Bud Clark one more time. It doesn't take much reflection to see that we need significant improvements in roster management / recruiting / coaching, especially on the offensive line -- though they do deserve credit for a great game yesterday.
Special teams were a mess this year. Rushing offense terrible. Penalties, terrible. Punting, terrible. Red Zone defense, terrible. Defensive efficiency, terrible. Passing defense, terrible. Defense on 3rd downs, terrible. Most of those things point to coaching, and not personnel, in my opinion.
A lot of those defensive "terribles" can likely be improved if TOP improved, where we were 12th (not shown on chart). And that goes back to the offensive line.
However, we did improve the last 1/2 of the season in most of the phases.
Amazing stat on the Big 12 site...Baylor only punted 27 times all year (2.25 times per game). They went for it on 4th down 49 times (4+ times per game).
