Game Day Experience

I like the new location, but they basically reduced Frog Alley to nothing. Beer tent is like 25% as big as it used to be, tiny TVs instead of the giant TV, two food trucks as compared to 7-8, no field for kids, no bounce house, no band, no cheerleaders and showgirls. It felt awful to me as compared to what it was in 2019 and prior years. It’s whatever but I was hoping they’d have some nice areas for kids
Interesting. We didn’t have time to make it over there. Hopefully with bigger games/crowds they will add more.

I hate to be too negative about game day stuff because I’m there for football, but it was shocking. Honestly maybe 30% what it used to be in the old location. Like a really really [ Finebaum ]ty farmers market

It sucked!

People pretty frustrated with champions club tonight.

People have to realize running an operation in the service industry these days is like herding cats. Everywhere you go the service is horrible. A clients wanted Hooters in downtown last week and they had 3 waitresses and one guy in the kitchen. They can't even fire people for no-call/no-show bc they'll take em whenever they can find them.

Hell, where we are in Florida, roughly 1/4 of the restaurants were closed today and even the CVS couldn't open bc they didn't have enough staff.

What is driving this? Is having a job no longer necessary? I don’t get it. I thought they stopped a lot of the COVID related bennies from uncle sugar.

I get weary of all this game day experience BS. It is what you make of it. It’s a football game, not Six Flags. Spoiled brats. Good for you…that little girl will remember being with her dad at a football game forever.
If the gameday experience was just the TCU band playing and cheerleaders cheering —then I would tend to agree with you. But if you buy season tickets, even the least expensive options are priced at a level that should deliver a very premium experience. But I’d settle for someone figuring out a humane volume level, someone choosing a couple of new songs, and teaching people that when using a microphone, there is simply no reason to scream for people to be able to hear you.

There were a couple of examples of real atmosphere at the game 1) when the students Riff Ram and 2) when they spontaneously sang Seven Nation Army (even though its a bit of a cliche at this point, it felt authentic).

All the rest of it feels so manufactured, so cheap, and so tired. It would take little effort to at least make fresh music selections. Someone must feel there is “tradition” around Welcome to the Jungle and We Will Rock You. You’re better than that TCU.

The last guy deleted his tweet but he blasted Donati about the Champions Club. I think he could have easily taken it directly to Donati or FrogClub instead of airing it on twitter but whatever. Donati and the Club should definitely fix the issues for the price they pay.

What was ultra embarrassing was he took a picture of the bar line with a caption that said they we left before half time because of this line. Just so pathetic that you would leave the FOOTBALL GAME because the line was too long. Smh.

As I was approaching Frog Alley, there was a speaker that said "Face Coverings are required in Frog Alley and inside the stadium at all times"
My heart rate spiked as my mask was in my vehicle. I peeked in Frog Alley and nobody was wearing a mask.
They were using last years announcements.

They get paid more to drop Amazon packages off at people’s front door and they don’t have to deal with rude customers all day long either. In general a lot of people found other things to do that they think a way better than service industry jobs.

Agreed. It was usually worth the walk as you’d get some free promotional sunscreen or sweat towel. On Saturday I think I saw 2 companies with their promotional items, 3 or 4 people doing face painting, and a lot of folks, like me, walking around lost.

If I had paid those prices to get in, saw no other sources for what I wanted to buy, I would go back to my tailgate where I have television and drinks! Quit letting JD off the hook, this BS should have NEVER happened at that level of support for TCU!
