My apologies to whoever I told a while back that he doesn’t throw that hard. Never seen that but also never seen him relieve before .
he looked a little uncomfortable in relief - like Saarloos told him you only have to go one inning, so give it the gas from pitch 1.

He was pretty high in the zone for a lot of his pitches - even his offspeed stuff - but he got some control after the first few batters and a visit from Kirk - then he got the job done.

I know this will be a Captain Obvious comment but I'm guessing they used Meador today just to get him in there in a low-pressure situation before he makes a start.

So I suppose we're not crazy if we get a little more hopeful?
94-95, getting his breaking stuff over the plate in the high 80's and 4 innings of no hit ball before getting a little tired and missing with the HR pitch.

I would say overall that is probably what Schloss was hoping for from Big Russ about 600+ days off the mound.
