TCU men’s basketball will enter 2026 with high expectations thanks to the return of two of its star players from last season’s NCAA Tournament run.

Forwards Micah Robinson and Xavier Edmonds elected to return to Fort Worth for another season after helping the Horned Frogs advance to the second round of the tournament. TCU defeated Ohio State in the first round and then fell to Duke one game away from the Sweet 16.

TCU will have a chance to reach the program’s first Sweet 16 thanks to the return of the duo.

I have a really hard time caring about college sports these days.
Agree, but I like how our basketball program appears to be working very hard to find good junior college, Euro, along with a highly rated transfer or two. This also tends to bring in hungry players rather than the ones biding their time before the NBA draft.

This year we lost Punch and Lelevicious. Time will tell, but we may have upgraded overall even if not at those two positions. If we can maintain or upgrade without having to back up the Brinks, I’m ok with that. It shows some hard work and creative thinking. It may not be obvious early because teams need to gel, like last year. That makes it fun, at least for me.

Agreed we probably overall upgraded. I'm excited for the 26/27 roster.

There is still fun to be found as Dog mentions here. Nobody is making anyone stay a college sports fan at gunpoint.

And actually, if you look at the bright side, it makes it EASIER to have fun even if your team had a bad year last year. Because in the next year, the whole roster can turn over. There have been a few previous years of certain TCU sports where I looked at the roster and didn't just know we were in trouble for that year, but the next year and the year after that barring some recruiting miracle.
