Why TCU men’s basketball team isn’t playing in a postseason tournament

The TCU men’s basketball program will not participate in a postseason tournament for the first time since 2021.

The Horned Frogs had the option of playing in the College Basketball Crown, a new postseason tournament in Las Vegas launched by FOX this year to rival the NIT, but passed on the opportunity.

TCU isn’t the only program to decline an invite as West Virginia, Penn State, Kansas State and Rutgers also reportedly passed on the Crown Tournament.

Been on vacay a week and didn't care enough to even look at brackets. I just need someone to catch me up on whom to hate, in addition to the usual suspects (TT, UT, OK, and BU if they made it).

For me, next year is it for Dixon. He either needs: winning conference record or make the tourney and get beyond round of 32. This “happy being average” attitude is toxic if it sits too long. The program just feels stagnant and in need of a change.

And then we hire 4-5 slapdicks in a row and become reacquainted with truly sucking at basketball. Like after we ran off Billy Tubbs.

Or we hire another Mark Campbell. Eventually, you have to take a risk. Tech has hired back to back to back successful coaches, we should be able to do the same.
There is no job opening at TCU for a men's basketball head coach despite some objections on here. Why would we want to fire a Frog who just us took to three straight NCAAs? Reminder: that has never happened before in the history of our school.

CJD is the head coach until he does not want to be here. Period. Since we denied him the chance to take the UCLA job, this is where we are: the first season of the rebuild by CJD. If we don't have the money to buy out our football coach that half the fan base hates with a passion or fire our baseball coach whose team missed the NCAAs and just gave up 26 runs to a mediocre ASU team, then how in the hell are we going to find the cash to buy out our most successful bball coach ever?

Stop this delusion nonsense about firing a good basketball coach because he has one bad year. And it is so cute that now you care about TCU basketball after ignoring the team all year. Classy.
