FWST: Why Deion Sanders can’t wait to play at TCU again

Sonny has gotten a lot of leeway, rightfully so, because of’22. We’re now 3 years past that and we have been lousy to average and in this conference that is unacceptable. The good news is that we have the talent to be really good we just have to show it on the field.

I honestly don't think he's gotten much leeway at all with a large percentage of the fanbase. There isn't a coach alive who would be fired within two years of taking TCU to the National Championship game, and that's exactly what a not so small number of TCU fans want/wanted to happen.

You don't fire a guy who, three years into his tenure, has the best record in the conference (tied), unless you just want to be an idiot and don't want any good coaches to come here, unless they just see it as opportunity to get in and get out quick.

It wasn't a bad year, but to appease the people who think we should win 10+ games every year (which we've done 33% of the time since we joined the B12), you have to call it that. I mean, everyone wishes it would have been better, but it definitely could've been worse. I also think the schedule thing is a convenient excuse why the season was so "bad". There isn't a hell of a lot difference in B12 teams from top to bottom, regardless of the standings. Not anything like other leagues anyway.

We finished the second half well, showed improvement especially on the defensive side.

A couple of ugly losses from possibly getting in. We should not have lost to UCF and Houston.

And that's a real good point. We know we should have beaten those squads. Mess around in a game and it can get away from you. Timing a little off, etc. They cleaned that up. Shows ability to reset and focus.

Team morale was rock bottom at the beginning of last season. We were lost at RB, and were annihilated at SMU because we vomited up the football over and over again. Things really didn't right themselves until our Crack Staff ran out of options and stuck a WR in at RB. That's when things turned around. We quite literally had two seasons last year.

I like to think that the confidence and poise the team showed in the last few games and the Bowl will transfer over to this upcoming season.

That parity is interpreted by the Big Two leagues as weakness....We just don't mean more....

Well, part of the reason for all the parity is that there are no great programs. How many conference titles do Big 12 teams have over the past 30-40 years relative to teams in the Big Two leagues. They pretty much have a monopoly on all the heavyweight programs.

It is what it is.

I don’t see it as a bad year I just don’t think it was a good one either. It took more time than it should’ve taken to get the team moving in the right direction. This team looks to have everything it needs to win and it’s up to the coaches to get them ready.

Coulda shoulda woulda....In the same circumstance as last time Colorado came to ACS....TCU coming off a sterling season, this year coming off an acceptable season....Pre-season evaluation in both 2023 and this year for Colorado are a lower division finish in conference....
