The Tarrant County area has long been an endless stream of football talent funneled to college programs around the country, and the 2013 class is no different. This group features three high school all-Americans and two of the top quarterbacks in the country. Texas and Texas A&M appear to have the inside track with the elite athletes again this year, but five of the prospects on this list have pledged to stay home and attend TCU. ...

7 Sammy Douglas (6-3, 195), LB, Arlington: The TCU commit was a good linebacker in 2011 but has taken his game to another level as a senior. Douglas has elite speed, height and instincts. TCU offered before this season and may have gotten the steal of the area as Douglas could fill an immediate need, but will have to beef up in a hurry.

10 Charlie Reid (6-4, 225), TE, FW All Saints: There was only place Reid wanted to go and that's TCU. Reid saw his production increase every year despite playing for an All Saints team full of top prospects at every position. A good blocker with great speed and hands for his size, Reid could develop into a special player at H-back for the Horned Frogs. ...

Douglas sounds like a stud. Impressive list for TCU. I wish we could get that DE from trinity.

I'd love for TCU to get a stranglehold on the local recruiting. It might be hard to push a&m out, but prob possible with Tech, Baylor, and UT. Last I read, OU is not recruiting Texas as much (might be a mistake). As well as, continue the pipeline from LA and GA.

That DE from Trinity is a bit slow speed wise. Probably a DT in college. Some think Utah might be where he is heading.

I remember when we would get one Texas top 100. As a kid I was always so proud to see that 1 with TCU next to his name but I wasn't old enough to realize that the eight to fifteen that UT, A&M, Arky would get was burying us in a SWC hole.

Ain't that the truth? Sometimes, TCU would get top running backs like Norm Bulaich and Ross Montgomery, but no support for them. Frogs might get Mike Renfro, but no depth. Then, in '71 and '72, in comes the top runner in the state each year, Mike Luttrell and Ronnie Littleton. No where to be found were players to back them up. It's a different deal now, with balance in recruiting.

TCU just doesn't even have a shot at recruiting the metroplex.

TCU will never match up with the SWC powerhouse schools. (1994)

TCU will never win a Western Athletic Conference Championship (1999, 2000)

TCU will never win a Conference USA championship (2002)

TCU will never be competitive in the Mountain West Conference (2005, 2009, 2010, 2011)

TCU's facilities are aged and in dire need of replacement (2000-2012)

TCU does not have the players or coaches to compete week to week in the Big 12 (2012)
